Artist Biography
Ms. Langhoff is primarily a self-taught weaver, influenced by workshops with nationally recognized weavers as well as a week-long class at the Weavers’ School in Coupeville, Washington. In 2006 and 2007, Ms. Langhoff received Artist Entrepreneur Grants from the Louisiana Division of the Arts. In 2008 she received a grant to participate in a Creative Capital Professional Development Retreat. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Crafts Guild, and a member of the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi, New Orleans Weavers Guild, Handweavers Guild of America, and a past member of Rhino Contemporary Craft Company.
Ms. Langhoff is a licensed interior designer and recently retired as facility manager of an energy company. For twenty years she owned and operated Langhoff Associates, a professional interior design consulting firm whose work included corporate and fine residential interiors. It was founded in 1979 and located in a renovated Julia Row townhouse in the Arts District and Historic Warehouse District of New Orleans. She received her design training at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan and the University of Florida School of Architecture at Gainesville. She has received numerous interior design competition awards and her work has been published in national and local publications. She is a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers and has served as a National Board Member and Chapter President of that organization.
She has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, as First Vice President of the Louisiana Landmarks Society Board of Trustees, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Crafts Guild.
Ms. Langhoff’s weavings are available at Louisiana Craft Guild’s Sans Souci Crafts Gallery in Lafayette, the monthly Baton Rouge and New Orleans Arts Markets, and numerous regional and national art shows and festivals.
