Craft Medium:  Wood Artist's Statement: The big woods of the Atchafalaya Basin were my first inspiration to create furniture using the recovered logs from 18th and 19th century logging operations. These "sinker" cypress were cut at maturity and can now be recovered with some effort, providing a beautiful wood that also offers the opportunity to recycle instead of cutting living trees.
