Artist's Statement: My work consists primarily of wheel thrown pieces. However, I have always used elements within my work that have been hand built additions to my wheel thrown work. Bringing together various methods of construction to achieve the form I have in my minds eye. My firing process incorporates both high fire functional stoneware and traditional Raku firing methods.

Artist Biography:
Patricia Watkins is a studio potter working in South East Louisiana. She studied Ceramics at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. Watkins uses the potters wheel to create clay vessels. She then combines hand and wheel techniques with a focus on form and surface texture. Watkins' firing methods include the quick fired Raku technique as well as high fired functional stoneware pottery. She has most recently been published in 500 Teapots, Lark Books, The Best of New Ceramics, Hand Books and Studio Potter Magazine.
