Craft Medium:  Mixed Media Artist's Statement: Living in south Louisiana allows me to enjoy the beauty of flowers in my garden year-round. Creating flower collages allows me to extend my enjoyment of these flowers beyond the garden. I collect my flower specimens when conditions are favorable because my objective is to preserve the natural beauty of the specimen. With specimens in hand I begin arranging the beautiful pieces in pleasing and interestingly unique designs. Acid-free paper, a watercolor or fabric are some background choices I use to enhance the natural beauty of the flowers. I use frames ranging in size from 11"x14" to 2"x3". My designs are mostly traditional, but I can also be comtemporary. Flowers from special occasions such as funerals and weddings can be preserved in this manner. I can also personalize wedding and graduation invitations with flowers.
