Artist's Statement: A sixth generation New Orleans native with a varied and expansive career in art,
including scientific illustration, medical art, advertising illustration, design & art direction.
Currently exploring New Orleans & Gulf Coast nature-related "Works on Paper" and canvas with contemporary, non-traditional printmaking at the heart of it all.
Using recycled Plexiglas as a printing plate, inked leaves & fronds from my garden become one-of-a-kind monoprint & monotype compositions.
Using water-based inks, hand-carved blocks are individually painted and become unique, hand-pulled multi-colored relief prints without need for multiple plates and registration.
Any one or combination of the following techniques are experimented with in my work, including (in many cases) a touch of whimsy!
Intaglio ~ Watercolor Intaglio ~ Relief ~ Monoprint
Photo-Laser-Lithography ~ Mixed Media ~ Pen & Ink
Photography ~ Watercolor ~ Encaustic

Artist Biography:
With a B.S. in Advertising Design and a career as a self-employed advertising art director, illustrator & graphic designer, a disillusionment with computer-generated art led to a new career direction…I re-discovered the hands-on art of printmaking. Portraying the beauty of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, my illustrative, often whimsical images maintain a trademark attention to detail.
A sixth-generation New Orleans native, the affection for and beauty of the area have always been the thread of consistency in my work.
In addition to experimenting with techniques to portray that natural beauty, I often offer printmaking demos and workshops at the not-for-profit New Orleans Glassworks & Printmaking Studio (aka New Orleans ArtWorks), the Adult Education Department of the N.O. Jewish Community Center, as well as art classes by invitation at local schools and other local non-profits.
