Lyndel Renoudet

Clay / New Iberia, LA

I am a small one person studio creating hand made porcelain and stoneware. My work is both handbuilt and wheel thrown. The pots are altered and impressed with fern, flowers and metal objects for decoration and fired in an electric kiln to Cone 6. The commercial glazes and ioxides I use are all applied by dipping or brushing. The glazes are food safe, however, any pots painted with oxides are not food safe and can only be used for display. My pottery is constantly changing. Spring & Fall seasons influence my designs and colors, as do browsing pottery magazines and books. I am always looking for new techniques and designs to incorporate into my own forms.

My educational experience in Pottery began in 1984 when I joined a friend and colleague, Mary Elaine Bernard, to learn and produce pottery together for three years. Mary Elaine moved at which time I began working alone. I am a self taught, studio potter currently working out of my home in New Iberia, La.
My membership in professional organizations includes, exhibiting member:Lafayette Art Association, Visions Gallery, Lafayette, current member of Louisiana Crafts Guild and exhibitor at Sans Souci Fine Craft Gallery. I was a founding member of the Left Bank Gallery, New Iberia and am a member of long standing in The Art Group, New Iberia. I am currently an exhibitor and member in the new A & E Gallery, owner, Paul Schexnayder, New Iberia. I am an active participant in the New Iberia Art Walks.
